Our first lesson is about a very useful spell: Ridikulus. You may have seen family members using this spell to get rid of Boggarts, specially those of you who come from wizarding families. Now this spell's purpous is to change the appearance of a person or object into something funny, as in "ridiculous" to make the caster laugh. It's particularily useful against Boggarts. Anyone knows what a Boggart is? I assume you may have learned this in Care of Magical Creatures? A Boggart's true form can never be seen, and when you come up against a Boggart, it will automatically transform into your deepest fear. To get rid of it, you need to use this spell. However, "Ridikulus" isn't just some verbal spell! You must think of a funny appearance for that Boggart to take after the spell is cast. The idea is to point your wand at that "fear" and think fast of what you want it to look like, and then cast Ridikulus! The Boggart can only be destroyed by laughter, the laughter of the caster. Alright, time to try the spell. Stand in line please, and each of you will get a turn. **Opens big closet with a wave of the wand** Here it is...Kasey, you go first! Just concentrate on the funny part now. Don't let the illusion of the Boggart take over! It's not real.
